PTCOG 49 Travel Fellowships Program:
For the upcoming PTCOG 49 meeting in Gunma, Japan, May 17 - 22, 2010, again Travel Fellowship Awards for young scientists are available thanks to the generously support by industrial companies, especially IBA, SCHÄR ENG and SIEMENS.
About 15 applicants will get a grant for PTCOG 49. A candidate for a Travel Fellowship Award must be a person who:
- has not recieved a PTCOG travel fellowship previously;
- is at most 5 years beyond his or her highest degree and has at least one-half a year’s, and at most 3 year’s, experience in particle beam therapy;
- is a member of, or at least loosely affiliated with, an institution which must either: have, be building, or be in advanced stages of planning, a particle therapy facility;
- and, whose institution will undertake to cover any additional costs of a fellow’s attendance at the society’s meeting.
Applications will be accepted from more than one candidate from any given institution. However, an effort will be made to have representation from as wide a geographic area as possible. Travel fellows are not required to present a paper at the meeting.
